Another new chapter begins.....

Today is officially my last days as a stay-at-home mom. Tomorrow I start my employment with VCU and I am so excited although the past 10 days have been very hectic.

We have managed to find a nanny (Alex) who moved in with us today. She is from the Philippines and seems extremely nice. This of course has nothing to do with the fact that she started cleaning our house approx. 10m minutes after her arrival....and continued while we all went to the pool....result: when we returned we could hardly recognize the house again as everything was tidy and clean. After I had put the children to bed I came downstairs to a clean kitchen...oh I could get used to this I think!!!

Victoria has started nursery (pre-school) and seems happy. Believe it or not: she will be taught French and Arabic every week but otherwise it is like an american pre-school with lots of structured play and she seems to like it a lot. Phew!

Madeleine and Mathias will be going to school on a school bus. Mind you, not an american style bus but more like a mini van but there are two other kids from our compound who take the same bus so between us we should almost fill it up.

I honestly can't believe how fast things have been moving over the past weeks but we're still enjoying it and I really am excited about starting work.

Weather has gotten quite a bit warmer...the past 3 days we've had 35C (not sure exactly what that is in F but I think it's around 95F)...needless to say we've been spening most of our free time by the pool. Madeleine and Mathias are so brown and Mathias asked me today if he was ever going to be white again....my reply: "when we spend the summer in Denmark you will turn white again!"

Still, we could use a snowman or two down here......
