Orientation Week at VCUQatar

I have been back at work for almost 2 weeks to participate in orientation for the new students arriving at the university where I work. Kids are still in Denmark with my mom (bless her!) so it's also been a nice time for Stuart and I to re-experience what life was like before kids.........and honestly: we both miss those three great kids a lot!

However, this past week has been so much fun for me. Our photographer at VCUQatar is on leave so guess who has voluntered her services and is now acting as official event photographer - yes, yours truely. I am borrowing this amazing camera that I will never be able to afford myself but also managed to sneak in a few shots with my own camera.

We are in the process of moving into our new extension to the building and it is beautiful. What you can't see at the pictures are the numerous people still working to finish the place. Nor can you hear the roaring from all the mashines - so, enjoy how beautiful it is looking.

The new students painted with light today - meaning they each had a coloured flashlight and we then took pictures over 6-8 seconds creating the effect you see here. The first one reads (over 4 lines):"VCU Qatar, Art & Design, Foundation, is colorful". Amazing, right!

Well, off to London tomorrow to meet six great friends from Easton, MA......can't wait! Then Denmark for another 4 weeks before we all return. No, I am NOT complaining this summer!
