We had a small Danish celebration with a few friends on the day and then had a pool party (again, what a treat this time of the year!!!) for her class and compound friends this afternoon. Very relaxing, happy kids and thereby happy parents.
Some drama though:
Our life gueard (thank goodness we hired him) had to jump in fully dressed, sunglasses and all to rescue Victoria who was at the deep end trying to mount one of the big floaties. By the end of the party Madeleine did a backwards flip and slammed her head against the pool side.....huge egg on her head but after an ice pack she seems fine and happy again....but quite a scare nonetheless. So, as you can tell only our own kids were in danger which I'm still trying to decide whether was good or bad.....
Thank you to all our friends abroad who sent birthday wishes via mail or facebook. Even Madeleines "old" class in Easton sent greetings to her and she had a big smile on her face when she read them all! We wish we could have shared the day with you all - but you were here in our hearts!
So glad to hear Madeleine had a great birthday! We, here at Moreau Hall, think of her all the time, miss her smiling face and are happy to hear that she and her family are doing well! Mrs. Twiraga
