Safari Deluxe

 

 Another amazing trip to the desert with my work - this time it was the deluxe package as we had several guests from the US visiting for Tasmeem 2011.

I think these pictures show for themselves how much fun we all had - but the children especially had the best time.

Who would have thought we'd be snowboarding at the end of March......and in the desert!!!

 

Nothing like a well deserved rest and a cup of arabic tea after a long afternoon on the slopes!

And then on to the camels........

Finishing off with dinner and a bonfire on the beach. Not to mention the beautiful moon......what a day/evening! We would have loved to share it with all of you!

Madeleine is on the girls football team at school, and this year - for the first time - Parkhouse English School was able to be represented at the Qatar tournament for year 3 and 4 girls.

As a special treat my amazing sister and I were invited to join the group as they played against 11 other teams. I must admit: my expectations weren't too high but I was so impressed by the skills these girls all showed on the field! Not to mention the team work.

Wonderful and exciting day - and not less so when the girls made it through to the final, which they won 2-0. I think these pictures speak for themselves!!!

Madeleine turns 8!

After two of the toughest weeks in our lives we finally had a reason to celebrate. Madeleine turned 8 and started her 9th year having 2 friends over for a sleepover. 

Lovely and relaxing Saturday with gorgeous weather - it is still such a treat to be able to wear shorts/skirts in February!

 We decided to visit the new Cultural Village and were very impressed by the place. More shops/cafe's/restaurants are to open there but it is already a great alternative to the Souk. Take a look at these pictures:

 

We finished the day with dinner outside and the traditional Danish birthday cake - happy birthday my beautiful big girl!
