First Day at School in Doha

Due to Ramadan school started really late this year - however, none of us are complaining about that after a fantastic and long vacation in Denmark. Madeleine and Mathias started school yesterday (yes, we have school on Sunday but then we have Fridays off instead) and seemed happy to see their friends.

But the BIG day was today because Victoria started at the school too. She has been bouncing off the walls with excitement since returned to Qatar - I don't think there is a child who was more ready than her to start school.
This morning she was absolutely beaming! We tried to take outdoor pictures but my camera steemed up (it was 36C at 7am AND humid) so we went inside.

Once in the class she immediately went to a table with playdough, sat down and kissed us goodbye. Around her were crying and shy kids hanging on to their parents but Victoria couldn't get us out of the door quickly enough.
Our nanny picked her up and when they got home Victoria immediately demanded that Alex called the driver to take her back to school. When this didn't happen she cried for half an hour and then fell asleep. When I woke her up later she continued to complain about not being allowed to go back to school immediately. Needless to say she is looking forward to tomorrow!
