When you live in the dessert you have to try a camel ride....or at least that's what WE think. So, off to the sand dunes to test it one late afternoon over the past weekend. Let's just say:"We've tried it - no need to repeat!"
Scenery was spectacular but the camels are 1) uncomfortable to ride and 2) not at all that keen on having several Taylor's on their back each. we started out just fine but as soon as we were starting to go slightly up-hill the camels protested loudly. Fair enough: it was the end of their day too, so we decided that 25 minutes were enough and returned.
On the way back we witnessed several mad car races going on in the sand dunes......you get the idea from this picture. Let's just say that suddenly Stuart's driving doesn't seem all that bad - now there's a though for those of you who know his driving:)
