Today we went for our first drive to a beach located on the northern coast of Qatar. By accident, we missed the exit (easily done as it's not a proper road you exit onto) and suddenly found ourselves by the beach at the very northern tip of Qatar with no more road in front of us but only water.
We went back and found the exit and couldn't believe our luck when we spotted camels in the distance. We pulled over and they were actually walking towards us so as you can see we got to see them properly much to the kids and our delight. I guess the signs along the road showing camels crossing are no joke after all:)
At the beach we met an extremely nice man who had been spending the day there relaxing and cooking. He offered us all kinds of delicious foods and the kids ate like they had not been fed for days. In fact, they emptied the entire tray of fish and crabs you can see on the picture.....the man insisted he did not want to finish the food himself and when we offered him money he was almost offended. What an amazing person.
A wonderful and exciting day....very different scenery as you can tell and definitely a fun experience all in all.
